Hotel de Baak Seaside provides space for showcasing special exhibitions by contemporary artists. Together with the artist, we arrive at a common theme that connects the artworks, our location, and the learning processes that take place here. Currently, we have the exhibition 'When you dream, you see the most beautiful things' by artist Annette van den Heuvel on display.
Annette van den Heuvel does not paint in a traditional way but from her own perspective. She paints from her experience and what that experience does to her. In doing so, she uses various techniques and materials: watercolor, chalk, ink, acrylic paint, and oil paint. In this, she is constantly searching for new paths in form, line, and color without letting go of figuration.
"I love working purely, not too realistically. A stroke can be a stroke, you can see the traces of the work process. More and more, I let myself be inspired by the beauty of nature. Flowers, plants, birds. It fascinates me. It is a constant inexhaustible source of inspiration for me. I feel connected and supported by nature. I try to convey that in my work."
